Why I Love Lingerie Football

Let me tell you my story about how I became a convert of the Lingerie Football League.

I witnessed my first lingerie football game last Saturday.

It also just happened to be their last game of the year - the Lingerie Bowl VII. Wow.

As a male, diehard football fan and player, I have to admit, I was skeptical. Come on, girls in skimpy outfits playing tackle football? WTF?

Speaking of ladies, if you want some proven "tools" for meeting the ladies, I've done the research, it WORKS. Go here and increase your odds tremendously.

Anyway, at the lingerie football games, the players wear short shorts and sports bras and shoulder pads. Plus they have helmets with plastic face guards and various elbow and knee pads. It's nice to see they are protected because frankly, most of their bodies are not.

The game has 7 against 7 teams. Before this season, they just played one game that was viewed by millions of bored NFL fans during the halftime at the Super Bowl. (Come on, "The Who" playing the same sh*t they played for the past 100 years).

But this season the LFL played four games.

So here I am watching my first LFL game (has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?). It was held in the concert venue at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla..

After the ball was kicked off the tee, I had my "aha" moment about lingerie football.

Guys, this is not a gimmick, like say, sorry, professional wrestling. These ladies play to freakin' win.

Boom, bam, crash. The were smacking the hell out of each other, really hitting hard. And that's without pants or shirts on artificial turf. Ouch!

They were smash-mouth blocking like NFL linemen, running full bore and knocking bodies off the field. In fact, there were guys positioned on the sidelines holding pads to stop the girls from hitting the wall, and many times those guys were mowed down and run over!

Injuries? Nothing major, but several times the girls had to go to bench and sit down.

Then another "aha" revelation. These ladies love to play football. By the way they listen to the coach, cheer their teammates and run their routes, you can see their enthusiasm.

Why not? It's a fun game. Why limit it to just guys? I have female friends who love to play football.

The LFL is a great concept. But if you want get paid, well for you naysayers out there, you're frankly not going to get guys to pay to see women play football in jeans and sweaters.

You will however, fill an arena, if you have players wearing semi-lingerie - but it's nothing more than what you would see on the beach and much less risque than what you will see on the beach in South Beach.

And unlike the NFL, these players fight hard during every game because they are paid a percentage of the gate, with the winners taking a larger cut.

My suggestion is, if you're missing football, combine Monday Night Football with Victoria's Secrets and go to the website and pay to see one of the games online. Then when the season starts, take your buddies to a game. You'll have fun.

And after the first hit, you will be amazed.
